Some More New Orleans Jazz Festival

Published by balaspa at 12:00 am under festivals, jazz, music, musicians Edit This

I am just in a New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival kind of mood.  Maybe it’s the weather or something.  I haven’t been able to find quite as much 2009 footage as I was hoping, but I found a bunch of footage people took from the 2008 version.  Maybe people are just slower to upload.

Just to show how the festival covers all kinds of music, here is Stevie Wonder in a harmonica duet:

Here is a man named George French and his band, playing under a tent.  I love music festivals and the small tents just off the main drag that you can find all kinds of cool things in:

Kermit Ruffins and the Barbecue Swingers.  I love the jazz and blues band names!  They are really the most creative.  Take THAT “Coldplay.”

OK, that’s just three different samples.  They get all of the big names, but the true joy, at least in my opinion, are the local bands and smaller tents and festival venues that have the people playing just becuase they love to play.

Festival season is here!  Stay tuned!
