Some Jazz Shows for your Turkey Day
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. This is my favorite holiday. It is a day meant for sitting around and eating a lot of food and then sitting around some more watching football or falling asleep or both. To me, nothing says holiday more than doing exactly those activities. No decorations and no gift shopping or wrapping of presents or worrying about whether or not the gift you got is the right thing.
So, I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving meal. Whether you are eating the traditional staples of turkey or ham or perhaps enjoying a more unconventional meal such as sushi, just enjoy the fact you are with family and that you do have things to be thankful for. I know, I know, things look rough out there and I am hardly a beacon of hope, but even I am hopeful about the future as of late and I think that has more than a little bit to do with the recent election we just went through.
The other good news is that after you slice up and eat your turkey there are a few jazz shows going on around town. Sure, even the jazz musicians around the world seem to take the holiday off. Despite this thanks to radio station WDCB I am able to present you with three stellar jazz shows at three stellar Chicago live jazz locations.
So, I hope all of you who come here often have a great Thanksgiving and a great weekend. I will still be here all weekend long providing you with jazz and blues information. I am currently looking for some blues-related holiday music. Stay tuned for that.
